As covered in the podcast audio recording basics section, getting a quality recording up front is of high importance.
As a podcast host, it’s relatively easy for you to control your own recording environment, but guests can be wildcards.
Depending on the types of guests you interview, some may already be familiar with podcasting and have a professional setup, while others may not.
In any case, we recommend preparing your guest with some info on how they can help you capture a great recording. It’s also worth including some details about your podcast here and how the interview will go.
It’s recommended to deliver this information by e-mail. You can even have it all done automatically with the same system you use for scheduling guests.
As for what to include, we’ve created a Guest Prep Sheet that you can download and customize.
Right click and choose Save As for the platform of your choice.
